Simple Healthy Salad Recipes
Healthy salad recipes are so simple and with such a delicious array of leaves, herbs and other produce available the chance to experiment with flavours, colours and textures is enormous. With no cooking involved healthy salad recipes are so simple to create and can often be prepared well in advanced to fit in with a busy lifestyle. The salads of my childhood almost put me off them for life. Because it was easy to prepare Sunday lunch at my grandma’s house was always salad, and though I loved her dearly and miss her a lot, her salads weren't great. Sorry Grandma! The ingredients were always iceberg lettuce, beetroot, radish, luncheon meat, tomatoes and of course no dressing just salad cream. For the rest of my childhood I avoided salads like the plague! I now have a very different view. Salads for me now are wonderful and I see them as a great chance to experiment with different ingredients, flavours and textures. Not all of my salads work, and I could mention a few that haven't, but for now I'll stick to the ones I enjoy. There are some classic salads here, but also creations that have come about through experimentation.
